YEAR 7 ENGLISH AND DRAMA
Hating Alison Ashley
This website is designed as a portfolio of resources that can be used when teaching an English or Drama unit using the book Hating Alison Ashley by Robin Klein or the play adaptation by Richard Talloch.
This website will assist teachers in incorporating ICT technology and pedgagogy into the topic by providing ideas for lesson tasks, a brief overview of a possible unit outline and an example introductory lesson plan as well as links to informative resources on teaching the text.
This portfolio has been compiled with a year 7 class in mind but may be suitable for year 6 to 8 students.
Landroth (2014, p 39) describes “technology, or technology-based pedagogy” as a “holistic approach to lesson planning” which incorporates the use of different teaching strategies and “may include online delivery, use of tablet, laptop, computer or slate technology, two-way interactions via specialized software, as well as internet and intranet interactions”.
Therefore, the outlined lesson tasks will include the use of The Web, computer programs for publishing and word processing, iPad's and two way interactions such as social media.
